One of the funniest things about planning your wedding is meeting and chatting to vendors and other b2bs/h2bs to get inspiration and energise yourself. With this in mind I have decided to dedicate this newsletter to giving you some ideas for making the most of these connections.Wedding fairs come in all shapes and sizes and are a great place to get inspiration. The National Wedding Show takes place in Birmingham and London (twice a year), but there are events in other areas as well.
The UK Alliance of Wedding Planners are shaking up the world of wedding fairs with a new approach. Their Bridal Showcase will include 'real bride' fashion shows, a design room, a groom's room, plus a free 'speed planning' session for each attendee. The event will take place on 19th March 2006 at Hartsfield Manor in Surrey and more details will become available at the UKAWP site soon so be sure to bookmark their website.
If you are in the Gloucestershire area there is a duel site Wedding Show at The Matara Centre and The Hare & Hounds Hotel in Tetbury on Sunday 5th March 11am until 4pm (admission is free).
Not only are wedding fairs a lot of fun, they are a great place to find bargains as well. One of our members, Caitlin Hughes, has a great money saving tip she kindly wants to share with you...
'If you have picked out the dress that you would like already, and it only needs minor alterations then you could save a lot of money by actually buying the dress at a wedding show, and arranging the alterations yourself. Exhibitors will knock off about 20% as standard, and then if you haggle at the end of the show you could save even more! I saved £250 by buying my Jenny Packham dress at the National Wedding Show in Earl's Court, and then just needed to take the hem up.'
Do you have a Tip of the Week you would like to share with other members? - email us if you do, and let us know.
WeddingPath members periodically arrange 'get togethers' to go out for a drink, chat and swap ideas and advice. Rumour has it there will be a bit of a knees up in the Manchester area in the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye on this forum post if you are in the area.
Jo, a recent bride, has a superb blog that talks about her big day and the planning that went into it. This is a brilliant way to gain insight into how other b2bs put together their wedding and is a great read. If you go to her profile page and scroll down you can read all about it. Thanks for sharing it with us Jo.
Have a fantastic week.
Love and apples!!
