Who better to turn to for beauty recommendations than WeddingPath’s gorgeous members? We asked them to reveal the personal favourites they wouldn’t be without.

Skincare

Alanacohen is one of the many WeddingPathers who love Dermalogica products. After trying “every spot treatment available on the high street”, she has now been using this trusted brand for a few weeks. “I was dreading having a horrible lumpy complexion on my wedding photos but my skin is clearing up nicely now,” she says.

Aimz_lou is another Dermalogica fan. “I particularly love the Skin Refining Masque,” she says. For those who are thinking of trying it, it’s designed to remove impurities and help reduce oily-skin breakouts.

Bazabec has her own recommendation to make: “YSL do a fab facial cleanser. It’s just like wiping your face with soapy water on a cotton pad but your skin feels so silky after!”

Tiararama can’t speak highly enough of the Laura Mercier brand. “At the moment I am mainly using Purifying Cleansing Oil Light and their Moisturizer Cream with SPF15,” she says. “The Cleansing Oil is fab – you massage a bit of it into your face, add a bit of water to your hands, then go over your face and the water turns milky white. The milkier it is, the dirtier your face – not sure if that is the theory behind it or just my experience! It is fab for removing make-up (even mascara), and your face feels really pampered.”

Meanwhile, on the advice of her wedding hair-and-make-up artist, BeckySimons2B is using the famous Clinique 3-Step System, which includes facial soap, clarifying lotion and moisturising lotion or gel. “I have only been doing the routine for one month but can already see the difference,” she says.

Make-up

Lawra_m is a self-professed “low-maintenance gal” who uses No7 Soft & Sheer Tinted Moisturiser – Fair every day rather than foundation.

Mands is another bride-to-be who doesn’t tend to wear foundation, but she makes up for it in Lancome Juicy Tubes (an international best-seller for years). “I won’t even tell you how many I’ve got!” she says.

WeddingPath team member Adri has recently swapped to Max Factor's Lasting Performance foundation. “It really does last the day and creates the most even tones to my skin!” she enthuses. “I have freckles, and don't try to hide them, but always need to find foundation that does not look 'plastered on’ or make me look sickly!”

Another brand that gets namechecked by several members is Avon. DawnM loves the Make It Big mascara from its Mark range, while Adri is a fan of its Perfect Wear Extralasting Lip Color. “This is a MUST- HAVE!” she insists. “It REALLY does not smudge or come off!!”

Along with the aforementioned Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown make-up is popular with Tiararama. “Both of these brands were formed by actual make-up artists so they aren't gimmicky but do a fantastic job,” she says. “Their brown mascara, Brownie lipstick, Malted eyeshadow and gel eyeliners are fab.”

Aimz_lou has her wedding-day make-up all mapped out. As a base, she plans to wear an Avon mousse foundation she has just ordered, enhanced with Benefit’s Lemon-Aid and Benetint. For eyes, she’ll be using Maybelline Lash Architect with a top coat of Maybelline Lash Expansion Waterproof, plus Lancome eyeshadow and some waterproof eyeliner. “Girl gotta have eyeliner!” she says. And for her lips? The dramatically named Lip Injection by Too Faced – “FABULOUS lip-plumping stuff!” according to Aimz_lou. “It’s the only one I have tried that works… Stings like hell though!!” And to adorn her freshly plumped lips, Clinique’s Glosswear in Berry Flirt is her shade of choice.

Hair

Aimz_lou swears by cheaper products as well as more upmarket ranges: “I use Morrisons own-brand coconut shampoo and conditioner,” she says. “It’s wonderful, smells divine and is only 79p a bottle!” She also uses Aussie’s 3 Minute Miracle once a week. But she plans to follow a different hair-care regime in the weeks leading up to her wedding. “I'll be using John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette Glaze to give lots of lovely shineyness,” she says. “Also, I have recently purchased Tigi S Factor Smoothing Lusterizer after a recommendation on the WeddingPath forum and will most likely use this on the day also. It’s lush and smells just like a hair salon!”

Another WeddingPather, BeckySimons2B, is delighted with her recent hair-care discoveries. “My hair is quite dry and when I told the hairdresser I have to wash my hair every day she was totally shocked – she reckons that’s what dries it out,” says Becky who, after taking the hairdresser’s advice, is particularly happy with the following products:
Kerastase Specifique Bain Divalent: a balancing shampoo for those with oily roots and sensitised ends. Wash twice using tiny amounts, leaving to soak in the second time.
Wella Shine Mask - use every other day after washing, soak then rinse (smells divine!)
Wella Hydro Mask - spray 3 squirts after washing on wet or dry hair and leave in.

WeddingPath loves to hear your opinions on beauty products, as on everything else! A big thank-you to all those who have shared their thoughts.
