Drug trials fund woman's wedding 7659 views

Ramona Hodge a b2b from Birmingham (UK) has earned £6,000 for her wedding by taking part in clinical drug trials.

Ms Hodge is currently about to undergo her fourth trial and so far has tested drugs for back pain, asthma and motor neurone disease. She has suffered some side effects (notably rashes after taking the motor neurone disease treatment) but said she wants to continue the trials to raise money for a down payment on a house.

Her h2b, Wayne Weldon, says he is worried about his fiancée’s health and her mother has also urged her to stop. According to Ms Hodge Wayne is "100% worth it".

In March 2006 in a drugs trial at a site at Northwick Park Hospital in London six people who took part suffered multiple organ failure.
