Barbara's top tips
When choosing a venue, be sure to make a proper comparison of your favourites. The package price can be misleading. Breakdown all the costs, including welcome drink package, dinner package, buffet choices, additional options/inclusive items (such as chair covers, DJ, wedding cake, table centres). At some venues, you may need to factor in local accommodation, parking, caterers, fireworks and decor. A venue that may look more expensive, could actually be cheaper - depending on what it includes.
Nice idea...
Keeping it personal. The best weddings I go to are the ones where you get a feel for who the couple really are. Consider naming the tables about your lives together – places you’ve been on holiday, homes you’ve lived at, your favourite memories or places. Involve friends and family too for a feel-good, family atmosphere.
Day in the life of a wedding planner
No two days are the same, which I’m sure you’ll appreciate. This week I’ve been to a beautiful stately home. I went in the capacity as a consultant to advise them on how to get established as a wedding venue. With a couple of weddings coming up over Easter, I've also spent a considerable amount of time confirming all arrangements, and for one have been tying bows round napkins for what feels like hours.
And finally..
We have been approached by another TV show asking us for details of brides who would be happy to be part of a wedding documentary. Please drop me an email if you would like me to forward you the details.
