Red carpet wedding 11253 views

Partick Dempsey, the Grey's Anatomy actor, attended a wedding and the New York premiere of his new romcom Made Of Honour - at the same time (and people say men can't multitask).
Dempsey and Jillian, his wife of eight years, shared the red carpet with bride Michelle Golightly and groom Shaun Bollinger as they tied the knot. The couple had won a competition with a prize of an all-expenses paid wedding in New York, plus a honeymoon in Europe.I wonder if they stayed to watch the movie?

Pirate wedding 11751 views

I love people who are happy to be themselves and not care what others think. Take Amethyst, Queen of the Pirates (a.k.a. Mrs. Amy Hardin), and Capt. William the Wicked (a.k.a. Bill Hardin) who were married in true pirate fashion by tugboat skipper, Captain Mad Jack.
The festivities took place on the Willamette River in Oregon and nearly 100 guests (all in pirate attire) turned up for the ceremony. According to The Bee (a local newspaper), the minister started by proclaiming “We have been summons’d here to witness the crime of matrimony. More valuable than money, in this ceremony we will see offered the gift of eternal love. This gift of love is more valuable than any treasure. It’s stronger than any wind; it’s more intoxicating than the finest grog.”
The vows included eternal love and a promise to share plundered booty (sounds a bit risqué). When William the Wicked was asked if getting married was the pirate thing to do he replied, with a grin and a wink, “Arrrr, I shouldn’t have, but I did!”
The Hardin's, both hospital workers, have been into the pirate lifestyle for several years and currently live on a boat in a local marina.
Absolutely barking, but I love it!

Newlywed karate battle 6750 views

Now this is a strange story...
In Pittsburgh a couple of newlyweds are facing criminal charges after a brawl at their wedding. Dr. David M. Wielechowski, 32, a dentist, and his wife, Christa, 25, a facing charges of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
Evidently the couple had a rather heated argument and then Dr. Wielechowski used a karate kick to knock his wife down, not a good start to married life - and in my book time to seek an annulment. Things get weirder though... When other patrons of the hotel rushed to help the bride she then joined forces with her husband to fight off the guests.
Does this mean that after their shaky start they have already figured out married life is about teamwork, or are they just completley 'out to lunch'? Who knew dentists were so into karate, I wonder how Dr. Wielechowski removes a bad tooth?

Window washer's wedding wish 13203 views

Window washer Matt Boucher decided it was time to propose to girlfriend Abby Dyson - and chose an unusual method. Matt has a part time job washing the windows of Carleen's Coffees Shop in Lawrence, New Hampshire, where Abbey works to help fund her degree studies at the University of Massachusetts.
Matt, 23-years-old, spent 40 minutes washing the dinner windows this week before whipping out some shoe polish and writing 'Abby, will you marry me?' on the glass door. When Abby looked over, Matt got down on one knee and presented an engagement ring. The couple intend to get married in the next 18 months. -
First Virgin Wedding in Space 8542 views

Billionaire Sir Richard Branson has come a long way from selling records out of a red phone box. Branson plans to conduct a wedding ceremony in space - 70 miles from the surface of the earth. The ceremony is due to take place next year on the first Galactic sub-orbital flight and will make Branson the first person to marry a couple in space.
"We have had two bookings involving marriage, one to get married in space and the other for the couple to have their honeymoon in space. Virgin Galactic adviser George Whitesides and his new wife, Loretta Hidalgo, booked a $200,000-a-ticket honeymoon on Virgin Galactic’s maiden flight,” a Virgin Galactic spokesman told The Mail on Sunday.
Sir Richard has broken records before; in 1986 he became the first man to cross the Atlantic in a speedboat and in 1991 crossed the Pacific in a hot air balloon.
We are big fans of Branson here - he really seems to genuinely enjoy himself and live life to the fullest. Makes a change from sulky celebs that have so much, yet so little.
