As the curtain went up on the catwalk shows at BBEH in Harrogate last month, the new season came into being with key trends, fresh looks and top styles for 2009 brides.

Monochrome was a key trend on the catwalk, with Lusan Mandongus opening the show with a stunning black and white scene. A special guest appearance was made by Miss England, who wowed the audience by taking to the catwalk in a stunning dress from The Bride by Marcelane collection.

Ruffles were everywhere. Donna Salado made a dramatic splash on the runway with huge skirts falling in rippling billows.

And colour opulence was a popular trend. Alice James featured stunning red styles with full skirts of ruffles and sparkling detail. Designer Sharon Bowen showcased red too with a stunning strapless gown worn with a matching corsage around the neck.

The show had something to cater for every taste with gowns crafted using the finest fabrics from stunning duchess satin to vintage diamante encrusted lace. Alan Hannah bought a touch of Grecian goddess to the catwalk with his stunning embroidered halterneck gown - a fabulous vintage look, good for a white sand wedding or a Scottish castle!

Tippi Galore is a designer collection with a difference. Designer Bunny Stokes created the bridal collection when an actress she worked on a film with asked her to create the perfect tiara for her wedding day. Want some Hollywood glamour on your big day? We pick out some of our favourite pieces from the collection...

Having trained in both fashion and costume at college, Bunny Stokes worked as a wardrobe mistress before her reputation grew as a theatrical milliner. Inspirations for her latest bridal collections are taken from designers such as Christian Lacroix, and vintage Biba - although Bunny actually likes to attribute all her real inspiration on her Grandma’s dressing up box!

‘Vintage grabbed my attention from a very early age, it gave me a passion for period and quirky designs…’

For the ultimate in romance, this Willow Coronet Tiara (£175) sparkles with tiny Swarovski crystals, transforming you into the perfect fairy-tale princess for the day.

Typical of Bunny Stokes' passion for vintage styles, this Snow Queen Comb (£65) combines stylish plumes with twinkly crystals. Capturing the glamour of a fifties fascinator, Bunny says:

"Think Moulin Rouge meets Grace Kelly in Hitchcock Movies".

Or, for magical sparkle as you walk up the aisle, choose this Swirly Comb Tiara (£110) which has masses of Swarovski crystals arranged in swirls and twists.

"I fell in love with everything from the sumptuous era of Madame de Pompadour through to the glamorous fifties hats featured in High Society"

Tippi Galore's stunning range of tiaras, brooches, fascinators and hats for the bride are available online. Bunny Stokes also offers a bespoke service at no extra cost. To find out more, go to tippigalore.co.uk.
