BEAUTY Saving Face 2762 views

Sally Penford from The International Dermal Institute shares her top tips with WP brides on how to get into a pre-wedding beauty regime without breaking the budget.
Our thrift-driven times have put most brides on wedding budget alert. Bling is a blast from the past while brides focus on ways to save including ‘value’ driven beauty treatments and skin care. So, how can a bride-to-be spend less and get more from their skin care? Face treatment junkie: It's true. There's nothing like 60 minutes in the hands of a professional skin therapist to see your skin transform, but what if finances don’t allow or you simply cannot justify the pampering? Luckily for us, you'll find ‘Micro Treatments’ are starting to crop up on the beauty salon menu . Just 20 minutes could give you exactly what your skin needs at half the price! Think ‘flash exfoliation’, ‘intense moisture’, ‘rapid spot relief’ all achieved over your lunch hour. Also look out for some great free ‘add-ons’ to treatments that may offer you a free brow shape or hand exfoliation as part of the face treatment.
Double duty: what double duty products can be exchanged for your current regime? For example, change a cleanser and an exfoliant for an all in one micro exfoliant that will cleanse and lift dead cells. Or use a cleansing brush to power up your cleanser and get deep into follicles. Invest in a fantastic moisturiser that targets ageing skin with built-in sunscreen and may be used around the eyes. This cuts out the need for a separate sun protection and eye product and may be used
both day and night. Need a foundation, moisturiser and sunscreen? Then opt for the tinted moisturisers that do several jobs in one. Saving ways: every good skin therapist should offer free skin analysis, or may charge a fee that is redeemable against product purchase. This is a great way of ensuring that your skin stays on track if you are not having treatments. If you are nervous about forking out the cash to switch product or try something new, ask for a sample.
Mum's the word: looking for a way to say thanks to mum? Look out for offers giving you the option to buy your mum a 20 minute micro treatment and get one for yourself free.
Big is best: when you are shopping for beauty products always choose larger sizes as they are invariably cheaper per ml. And remember to look out for beauty offers where you get a 'gift with purchase'.
