BEAUTY In the Boudoir 2336 views

The US trend for a 'trash the dress' shoot after the wedding is catching on fast, as is the 'boudoir shoot'. It is a cool gift for your man-to-be - but do you dare to bare?
'The concept of having a 'boudoir shoot' is catching on fast in the UK', says make-up artist Louise Walsh who set up Boudoir Shoots three years ago after seeing how popular it was in the States. A professional photographer and top make-up artist are the essential ingredients for little old you to be transformed into a boudoir belle. Good lighting and clever makeup work wonders!
Louise offers a professional make up and hair service with advice on styling and choice of outfits before a 2.5 hour session in the photo studio. You can change up to five times and the photographer will give you all the advice and tips on posing for the camera. It makes a fab gift for the groom-to-be, perhaps delivered to where he is staying the
night before the wedding!
After your shoot, the photos are posted on-line for you to see using your own unique code. After you have chosen your favourite pictures, they are displayed in a leather book. The full session is £495 (with a £50 discount for WP brides quoting WP03, booked and paid for by the end of March for a shoot date before the end of June) or book a mini-boudoir session from £275. For more information go to boudoirshoots.co.uk.

Talia Shobrook was at the Golden Globes this month doing the make up for Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen. While there, she picked up on 'lippy looks' that stole the show and has some great get-the-look tips to share.

Two key looks came through at this month's Golden Globes - the lips had it, either naturally nude or full-on, glamorous red.
Celebrities such as Susan Sarandon, Anne Hathaway, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kyra Sedgwick and double-winner, Kate Winslet, stole the show with crimson red lips. Shobrook captures easy steps on how to create this take on the classic red lip:
EXPERT TIP: The morning before a big night out, or before applying any “statement” lip look, lightly exfoliate lips. Try an Aveda shammy cloth and Tourmaline Charged Exfoliating Cleanser.
1) Prep lips with a renewing treatment and blot.
2) Line lips, making sure to focus on the bow of the lip, and remaining inside the natural line.
3) Apply lip colour and blot.
4) Apply a second coat of lip colour and blot again.
Stars opting for a sexy, sheer, nude lip included nominees Angelina Jolie and Marisa Tomei along with presenters Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Eva Mendes and Beyoncé. EXPERT TIP: “Sheer, nude shades can be unforgiving on dry, winter lips,” says Shobrook. To ensure an even application of colour, apply a hydrating treatment to lips at least twice a day to prevent chapping. For extra exfoliating, apply a small amount of Aveda Lip Saver to a new mascara brush (you can find these inexpensive brushes in beauty supply stores) and gently brush lips top to bottom to exfoliate and hydrate at the same time.
1) Apply lip liner, paying careful attention to the natural lip line.
2) Fill in entire lip with lip colour in a sheer tone.
3) For a subtle shade enhancement, apply a lighter shade on top.Photos © HFPA Golden Globe Awards
