Wedding stationery design house Chartula Studio, has come up with an innovative way to help brides keep the budget down on their stationery.

Anyone choosing an idea from the Chartula Studio boutique collection of designs can now simply click the online calculator at chartula.co.uk to find out how much they will save by planning ahead and having all their stationery printed in one go.

“We know that weddings are expensive, but we also know that your stationery really sets the tone for the event, which is why we want to do everything we can to help couples have the stationery of their dreams, but without the budget of their nightmares,” said Chartula founder, Charlotte Hewson.

“Most brides tend to choose a stationery design and then have the separate elements, such as save the date cards, invitations and table plans, printed as each date approaches. What we’ve done here is helped them see how much they can save by having all the printing done at once, which is a far more cost effective option and can trim an average of a third off their printing costs."

    Top Tip

In addition, Charlotte also provides advice and tips on how to get the most out of your print run. For example, choosing a plain style for menu covers which double up as order of service covers can be a good idea, and can easily be achieved if you choose a design where loose-leaf inserts can be printed separately on a home computer at a later date and tied in with a co-ordinating ribbon.

Another tip is to print individual escort cards – which can usually easily be fitted onto an existing print run – rather than a formal table plan, as these can be simply filled in by hand as the time approaches, making it a much more flexible option as far as seating arrangements for the big day are concerned.

Little chocolates make yummy treats for wedding guests and look fab on the tables at the reception whether in favour boxes or wrapped in ribbon. We have three choccy finds we know your guests will love!

Prestat (020 7629 4838 prestat.co.uk) – chocolatiers to The Queen – is one of the oldest chocolate houses in London. Its assorted chocolates and truffles are entirely handmade in Great Britain. Loyal customers have included Roald Dahl, author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, who “adored” Prestat truffles. Perfect for weddings, The Jewel box (£3.75 for 40g) is filled with Napoleon III truffles and is illustrated by renowned artist Kitty Arden.

Margo down at Margo's Shop says going 'personalised' is the only way to whether it is chocolate or an a la Coleen style bikini. Selling cute little bars of chocolate (60p each) in silver or gold wraps, the outer wrap can be personalised with the first names of the bride and groom and the wedding date. All you need to do is slip the wrap onto the chocolate bar - and perhaps finish with a pretty ribbon to match your colour theme.

Finally, we just cannot resist the cute butterfly chocolates at Confetti. Milk chocolate squares wrapped in silver foil with a pink butterfly design outer are perfect for a summer wedding. When we looked they were in the sale too - reduced to £4.99 for 100 pieces. Quite a bargain!

  • RECEPTION Will You Dance? 13517 views

    Wedding Path Newswire

WeddingPath's forum is buzzing with ideas for first dance music from favourite tunes to etiquette. So we know you are all going to love Shazam's latest survey on the nation's favourite 'first dance' songs.

New research released by Shazam, the world’s leading mobile to web music service provider, reveals the nation’s favourite wedding ‘first dance’ songs. Topping the chart is the classic love song, Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton followed by Angels by Robbie Williams in second place and You’re Beautiful by James Blunt coming a close third.

The survey was conducted in the UK amongst 16 – 64 year olds who were asked to pick ‘what would be their favourite song to have as their first dance at their wedding’, from the most popular romantic tracks, on Shazam’s 5 million strong database, compiled by thousands of music fans across the UK using Shazam to ‘ID’ their favourite tunes with their mobile phone.

While the top three songs may seem conventional choices to celebrate your first dance as man and wife, the poll also revealed some more interesting faves for the first dance with The Beatles’ classic In My Life in fifth place and Led Zeppelin’s All of my Love appearing in seventh, perhaps boosted by their recent sold-out live concert.

Will Mills, Shazam’s Head of Music said, “The poll shows how classic our music tastes are when it comes to that all-important first dance.”
