What I’d Love, the wish list website, has teamed up with leading rose supplier, Country Roses to offer a selection of rose bouquets and petal confetti online. Best of all, the roses all come with gorgeous fragrances adding a touch of pretty perfume to the big day celebrations.

Perfect as an addition to any wedding, these British-grown roses are heavily scented and can be dispatched within 24 hours in a protective box. Prices start from £45 for a hand tied bouquet of twenty stems in a choice of six colours; apricot, white, magenta, red, yellow or a rainbow of colours. A bouquet makes the perfect thank you to the mother of the bride. Or why not wow your new mother-in-law with a bouquet presented over a champagne breakfast?

Country Roses also produce their own dried or fresh, rose petal confetti for £25. During the British growing season, from May until November, it is possible to purchase eight litres of fresh petals in a variety of colours. Whilst at all other times, four litres of dried petals are available in yellow, red and pink, cream, flames or mixed colours.

Founder of What I'd Love, Lynne Bothamley said; “Many brides have been using our site not only to source unique and unusual wedding decorations but also to house their gift list. We are delighted that we are now able to offer brides a wide choice of things for their wedding alongside classic wedding presents.”

Event organiser, Sophie Lillingston from Lillingston Couture Events has come on board with some top advice for wedding reception. “It is so important that every wedding captures the spirit of the couple and tells their story – guests should instantly recognise whose wedding it is from the personal touches.”

Sophie Lillingston and her team have created over 500 bespoke parties all over the world and the UK, and whilst experts in every kind of exquisite party, weddings are their true passion. This week, Sophie shares some of her top trade secrets for a reception with wow-factor.

    The Invitations
o The invitation can be used to set the tone of the wedding and give guests a feel for what to expect on the special day.

o Using creative objects can be original and more intriguing, such as an olive tree or flip flops for a wedding abroad. Teasers such as these will hold meaning for you and your guests and can be kept as a memento for years to come.

o For a less traditional wedding (especially abroad when there are a lot of details to give), direct guests to your personal wedding website where they can RSVP, find directions, the wedding list and any other important details. It is also useful after the wedding to view the photographs.

    Drink
o Freeze your champagne glasses beforehand so everyone’s first sip is crisp.

o Magnums of champagne look generous and can actually aid service.

o Instead of a palette cleanser, serve ‘course cocktails’, a chic and imaginative way to create the party spirit.

    The Food
“Some of the smartest weddings have had bangers and mash and some have even had a fish and chip van. The most important thing is to keep it simple and ensure that you have the best ingredients.”

    Entertainment
o If you don’t fall madly in love with a band, add one or two live musicians to jam with the DJ. A sexy saxophonist and a cool percussionist performing with the DJ can really get the party started.

o Freeze flowers in ice for a beautiful effect.

o If you are planning fireworks add a live fire act or a projection onto water in the foreground for a dazzling result.

o An effective way to “wow” guests on arrival is with a carpet of candles - the glowing affect will impress everyone.

    Trend: Puddings “On the Move”
“We have seen a trend for people moving away from the full seated three-course dinner. Where the starter sets the mood and should have a certain “gosh factor”, the main course can be simple but delicious; but when your guests’ feet are itching to hit the dance floor, serve puddings in an array of exquisite glassware which can be passed around or served from the bar.”
