Fun at the Show 2630 views

We had great fun this weekend at the National Wedding Show, Earl's Court this weekend. Read on for our favourite finds and things we loved most.
We were no sooner inside the door when we spotted Laurence and Jackie Llewllyn-Bowen, dressed in full wedding attire. She looked amazing and has lost so much weight and the wedding pagoda designed by Laurence was on display at the Beachcomber stand where brides were flocking to find out about Jackie and Laurence style weddings in Mauritius. Next we headed to the Designer area, tucked next to the all-dancing new catwalk. We loved seeing Charlotte of Ellie and Charlotte's dress on stand - a stunning V-neck bodice with crystals falling into a flattering bias-cut skirt in softest crepe de chine. Charlotte was married this summer to her hunky artist fiancee - many congratulations! We were also really impressed with designer Vlasta Collu's stand where we were shown feather headpieces that change from white to pink or blue in the daylight.

Amongst the stands and stands of wedding suppliers, we spotted fab photographers, great stationers and some talented wedding planners. Tacky but fun? Get your own red carpet emblazoned with your initials and date of your wedding from Wedding Runner. Truly gorgeous? Vintage style floral arrangements under glass domes at Hayford & Rhodes.
Next weekend the National Wedding Show is at the NEC and Designer Wedding Show is on at Battersea - so make a diary date if you can!

Real Bride Abroad: Blissed Out 980 views

Yasmine is ready to get married! The suitcases are packed, speeches written and favours made – they are finally off to Italy!
Despite having one of the longest engagements ever (just over two and a half years!) the lead-up to the wedding has been a mad dash to get everything ready. But finally - we are ready!
The weather forecast for Tuscany says 28 degrees (!) but to cover all bases I’ve packed enough clothes for a trip to the Antarctic – let’s just hope that BA let me on board with all my luggage! I’ve also treated myself to some lovely new beauty products for the trip: Bliss’s Love Handler – which promises to tone the skin and their Hot Salt Scrub to slough away any dead skin cells (www.blissworld.com).
In among all the clothes and lotions is a spanking new guestbook which I’ve had customised with our initials by calligrapher-to-the-stars Paul Antonio (www.paulantonioscribe.com). I’ve asked one of my bridesmaids, Beth, to make sure all our wedding guests sign this, so that we’ll have a lovely memento to look at when we’re old.
Only three days to go now until the big day, so a presto!Read more blogs by Yasmine...
