Welcome to September and a splash of colour - anyone inspired to take red or orange as a theme? If Autumn is not your bag, we have plenty of other inspiration this week...

Tomorrow we have a fabulous real wedding lined up with some great themeing ideas and little touches that you might just want to borrow for your own big day. On Wednesday we check out honeymooning in the city of love - Florence - it is a must for true romantics, Italian-style. We have a venue closer to home on Thursday, a gem of a hotel in the historic setting of Windsor. To end the week, we pick up some penny-savvy tips from WalletPop on where to hold your wedding list.

Have great fun planning your wedding and remember to send me an email if you'd like to see your own wedding day featured or have any ideas on how WeddingPath can help you.

  • CELEBRITY SNIPPETS Flower Power 1616 views

    Wedding Path Newswire

Check out the style details of actress Milla Jovovich and Paul Anderson outdoor wedding on Saturday, August 22 in Beverly Hills, California - and get that flower look.

After seven years together and the birth of 20-month-old Ever Gabo, Milla and Paul tied the knot under a flower trellis set up in the garden of their Beverley Hills home. Milla designed her own dress, a flattering slimline gown inspired by 60s couture, while little Ever was flower girl in a tulle fairy dress.

But it was the bouquet that stole the show. Couture Wedding Florist Laura Kuy (www.laurakuy.com) comments, “The flowers in her bouquet are stunning white Phalaenopsis Orchids, Marroussia Roses and Hydrangea. A trendy idea for flowers now is to mix different shades of 'white'. The clean white crispness of the Orchids sit above the slightly more cream tones of the Roses and Hydrangea. Mixing them up like this is completely appropriate for her, it finalises her simple, chic and elegant look. Bound with simple ivory satin ribbon gives it a lovely clean finish. The roses are at the perfect opening stage to fill her bouquet with lovely folds of pretty white petals."

Yasmine is starting to tick off some of the big planning decisions on her to-do list and has some top tips to share with WP brides...

Only 40 days to go till the big day. Thankfully all the big tasks are out of the way – booking the venue and photographer, finding the dress and sending out the invites. I’ve even found pretty dresses for the bridesmaids – maxi dresses in slate grey and black. To stop them looking too matchy-matchy I’m asking the girls to accessorise their own outfits with silver jewellery. I think they’ll look gorgeous!

Now is the time to finalise all the little details and over the next few weeks we’ll be choosing flowers and menus with the help of our super-efficient wedding planner, Carolina at Tuscan Dream. And I’ve even found the perfect cake topper. Sarah at Feats of Clay designed one for Emma Griffiths and Matt Willis’ wedding – her toppers are fabulously quirky and can be made to look like mini replicas of you both.

Top tip: book your photographer ASAP (we booked ours nearly two years ago) as all the best ones get booked up very quickly. We loved Nazarin Montag as her portfolio is super varied: she’s done album covers and film photography as well as being a wedding expert.

My hen night is on Saturday. The plan is to dress up as super-heroes (my idea). I don’t know what else the girls have got planned but let’s hope it doesn’t involve chaining me to any railings…

September is just around the corner and the heat of the wedding season is almost over with winter weddings and New Year proposals to look forward to - whatever stage you're at, this week's news is here to help and inspire.

We had to laugh when this latest credit crunch idea landed in our inbox from Domino's - it's the pizza cake - a fraction of the cost of a traditional cake and definitely a talking point. But if it floats your boat, you might want to enter their competition to win a pizza cake and pizza for all your wedding guests. Simply send the reason why you think you should win to dominos@dada.co.uk - but get your entry in by the end of today.

And for the rest of the week? You can look forward to our next installment from our Bride with a blog later today, a groom's special tomorrow, celeb gossip, fashion tips and a little idea for your reception later in the week.
