Celebrating your hen night is not for the faint-hearted. It is a real step closer to being MrsX and is a great time for bonding with new sister-in-laws and friends. Add a fun activity and you'll be in for a never-to-forget experience. This week we check out boxing lessons.
Forget pampering and pedicures. Instead, try something you might not have thought of doing before - something that will bond you and your friends and set the tone for an energetic evening. And what could be more energetic than donning some silky shorts and boxing gloves and stepping into the ring to learn some moves that will knock the socks off hubbie-to-be! Fast losing its intimidating reputation, boxing is becoming more and more popular with women. It is also one of the best fitness conditioning sports around. Not only is it a great work out that tones every inch of your body, but it’s also a fantastic, guilt-free way to start your big night out!
At the Boxing Clinice, a team of elite trainers run two-hour boxing workshops for all you Hens out there. You'll learn as a group how to move, think and act like a Lady Boxer. Once we've taught you the basics, including stance, guard, footwork and movement, you will be put through your paces with a boxing workout where you will hit speedballs, punch bags and focus pads. You’ll be surprised at how easy this becomes when you start visualising your ex instead of the punch bag! Then once you've discovered your inner Mohammed Ali, you get to beat your coaches up in the ring! Who knows, you may even be a real natural? And if not, it’s a great excuse to get rid of all that pent up wedding stress!
The basic package costs £50 per person but for an extra £30 you will receive a t-shirt and you get to keep the kit (boxing gloves and wrist wraps) in case you get a real taste for it! And if you want to go that extra mile, we can even arrange for you (at an extra cost) to have a dvd made of the session.
Full changing facilities including showers and hair dryers are available on site so you can even go out for your night on the tiles straight after the session. Leading dance company, First Dance UK, announces today that it has added Winchester to its list of UK towns in which it offers Hen Party dance lessons and dance routines.With a network of over 220 dance teachers and choreographers across the UK and Ireland, First Dance UK arranges for hen parties to learn a dance routine to a song of their choice or a dance routine from a film such as Fame or Grease. Professionally choreographed, the routine is tailored to the hen party size, time frame and dance abilities.
The dance classes are held in a dance studio, hall or hotel in the hen party’s local town or in a private residence/location.
Whether you go for the usual styles of salsa and street jazz or more unusual belly dancing, flamenco and pole dancing, the company’s dance teachers will work to any dance routine, style or song requested.
